Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

This federal U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website provides comprehensive information about Medicare and Medicaid programs in addition to other resources (e.g. statistics, fact sheets).

 

Social Security Administration (SSA)

This federal website provides comprehensive information about retirement, disability, and other benefits.  The public can apply online for benefits, obtain retirement estimates and access other resources (e.g. statistics, fact sheets).

 

Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services Virtual Gateway

The Massachusetts Gateway provides information for various audiences (e.g. consumers, organizations, etc.) about programs and services available through MA EOHHS. Individuals can apply for services directly through the site as well (e.g. Food Stamps).

 

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP is governmental assistance that helps those with low-income to purchase food.

Center for Medicare Advocacy, Inc. (CMA)

CMA is a “non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides education, advocacy, and legal assistance to help elders and people with disabilities obtain Medicare and necessary health care.”

 

Mass 211
Provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more.

MassSave

MassSave provides information on energy conservation including tips and energy saving products. Some of their services include: educational materials, in home services, guidance regarding installation of energy saving products, installation services, and inspections.

    

Meals on Wheels

The meals on wheels program delivers directly to your home. In order to be eligible to receive meals, you must be at least 60 years of age and homebound or unable to buy or cook meals for yourself.
